well 3 weeks ago my focus 1.8 tdci 55 plate 75k car actually just cut out on me with no warning, luckily i was driving along a side road, i then tried several times to start her she turned over but would not fire. so i called the AA they came and was with me and the car for a good hour and an half trying to start her but she would not start.
. We have an intermittent starting problem on our 2007 S-Max 2.0 TDCi. It has only started about 2 months ago, and was only happening once or twice a week, but with the colder weather setting in the problem ha gotten a lot worse in the last week. T describe the problem, the engine turns over but doesn't seem to fire.
1) Check battery type. 2) If you have access to a decent battery charger, use it for at least 4 hours. But do not use a high power (>5 amps) "quick charge" type, nor some old unregulated one. A regulated charger of 3A to 5A would be good. But follow Ford guidlines for charging. 3) How long was the drive home.

Posted January 30, 2018. Sounds like you have a misfire causing the juddering - spark plugs and coil pack would be a good place to start looking. As both lambda sensors are out of voltage, it's probably not those at fault, but they are detecting the overfuel from the misfire. 1.
