1. Re: Best area to stay in Puerto de la Cruz. There are 4 areas of Puerto - Botánico, San Antonio, Martiánez and Playa JardÃn. The later two are closest to the beaches, centre of town and bus station, for trips. The martianez area has a well known lido so even if your hotel doesn't have a pool you can go there.

The northern routes are best reached from the La Paz area, above the main town. These will take you towards the beach of El Bulollo and the areas north of the town.
